The King family believes the FBI is responsible for MLK's murder. Leading up to his assassination, the FBI publicly denounced King whenever possible.

They placed wiretaps and listening devices in MLK's rooms and constantly blackmailed him. In 1999 the King family filed a Civil Lawsuit — there was ABUNDANT evidence proving the FBI was responsible for his murder.

Between the mafia and multi-levels of government involvement, plus James Earl Ray’s initial confession changing, evidence wasn’t adding up. Plus, this HUGE detail can’t be forgotten.

Days after Ray’s arrest and initial confession in 1969, he tried to withdraw his confession, stating he’d been “coerced by his attorney and the FBI.” For the remainder of the civil lawsuit over 70 witnesses recounted events leading up to MLK's assassination — collectively proving Ray had been setup for MLKs murder.

A Memphis jury found the local, state, and federal government responsible for MLK's death — but no one in the FBI was held responsible! Ray wasn’t exonerated and the King family received a meager $100 as “reparations” for MLK's murder.

It’s imperative we understand no level of police was ever designed to protect us. As we fight for Black liberation, we must actively design futures where we can live away from white supremacy and police violence.

We can’t reform systems intent on killing us.
